Priyanka Naik

Short CV: Priyanka Naik is a Research Scientist at IBM India Research Lab and is part of the GenAI platform team. Her prior research explored the space of cloud deployment, networking and observability of microservices such as network functions and extending the same for multi cloud deployments. Prior to joining IBM, she received her Ph.D. from IIT Bombay, India. She has been a speaker for multiple tutorials and a co-author to a cloud networking book.

Title of Talk 1:  Cloud Networking Deep-Dive

Synopsis: Cloud networking has evolved a lot in the past years. Different networking solutions provide varied benefits and operate at different layer of the networking stack. With Kubernetes being a de-facto for cloud deployment understanding these underlying networking solutions is critical for optimal design of any cloud workload. We will understand the various solutions in this space and their benefits to different workloads.

Title of Talk 2:  System optimizations for GenAI workloads

Synopsis: The talk will provide an overview of current infrastructure for GenAI Workloads. We will also cover how to achieve optimal usage of resources such as compute, memory, network to improve performance of your workloads. We will also discuss research efforts around orchestrating these workloads on a cloud infrastructure and other research opportunities from a system perspective.

Title of Talk 3:  High Speed Network Packet Processing

Synopsis: The talk will cover the deep-dive into the kernel networking stack where we will follow a packet’s journey from the NIC to an application. We will also understand the various optimizations and solutions to achieve high speed packet processing.
