ACM India Student & Professional Chapters
Student and Professional Chapters are important components of ACM India. We have over 200 active student chapters and close to 20 professional chapters nationwide, including Special Interest Group and ACM W chapters, with the dual objective of creating a healthy competition among chapters and working toward a social cause. Each of these chapters hosts a series of technical events that provide both engaging technical content and career networking opportunities.

Funding Opportunities
Activity Based Funding (ABF)
ACM India has launched an initiative towards partial financial support of activities organized by its student and professional chapters in India. Any activity that adds clear value to ACM members, the chapter, ACM India and/or the broader computing community would be considered for funding—typical activities include expert talks, hackathons, and mini-workshops.
-
Usually limited to one activity per chapter per year; may partially cover costs.
-
Applications are solicited every two months; plan ~3 months in advance.
-
Can be combined with ESP and DEI support.
Please see the detailed guidelines on the nature of the support and the process for application and decision making.
Eminent Speaker Program
The ACM India Eminent Speaker Program (ESP) provides local ACM Professional and Student chapters in India with direct access to top technology leaders and innovators who give talks on comtemporary issues that are important to the computing community. Chapters invite speakers via the ESP portal.
ACM India covers travel to the host city while the chapter provides local hospitality.
Consider pairing ESP talks with workshops, mentoring sessions, or multi-chapter events.
Professional Chapter Organizational Support
Professional chapters may avail ABF for events, invite ESP speakers, and are provided financial support for holding chapter meetings.

Officers must be active ACM members; terms typically align with ACM’s fiscal year (July–June)
