Eminent Speaker Program - Guidelines for Speakers

ACM India is thankful to you for agreeing to be an Eminent Speaker under the Eminent Speaker Program (ESP). Under this program, ACM Chapters in India (Professional and Student) and ACM Institutional Partners (IP), will invite you to give a talk at their city/college. Here are the guidelines for accepting such invitations:

  1. Please ensure that your page of the ACM India Chapters portal is up to date and your ACM membership is valid while accepting the invitation.
  2. You will be directly approached by any ACM India Chapter through the ACM India Chapters portal for giving the talk/conducting a tutorial. You may accept the invitation based on your convenience.
  3. You can deliver the session either in virtual mode or in physical mode.
  4. Arranging the online platform for the session is the responsibility of the inviting host chapter.
  5. ACM India will check if the cost of travel is within permissible limits. Normal permissible limits are up to INR 15,000 per visit.
  6. ACM India prefers that the speaker gives at least two talks in his or her visit.
  7. Once the travel plan is approved, it is the responsibility of the Host Chapter to book your tickets.
  8. The Host Chapter will arrange for local hospitality (transport and stay). However, you will have to arrange transport in your home city. This can be claimed from the host chapter.
  9. ACM India expects that an Eminent Speaker makes at least two talks during the year.
  10. Speakers are expected to talk about ACM India activities and membership benefits before starting the technical talk.
  11. After the talk, speakers are expected to give feedback via the ACM India Chapters portal within a week.
